May Week 3
Local Salad has arrived, despite the lack of rain. Lollo, Oak, Iceberg, Cos, Biondi are all fantastic. Grown on the Edge of the New Forest less than 24 miles from our depot.
The local Dorset leaf selection is excellent in particular the Pea Tops and Red Watercress.
Wild Garlic, Wild Garlic flowers and Nettle Leaves are still available.
Baby Leeks have been a bit difficult but the Baby Candy and Golden Beetroots are available every day.
Truffles are down in price and Morrel Mushroom have been very good this week.
Local Asparagus and Strawberry are fantastic.
Purple Spouting is drawing to close and English Peas in the Pod and Broad Beans are due any day

Bad weather in Spain and Italy has caused problems with salad supply but the warmer weather is starting to bring on more produce and prices are starting to ease.
Brussel Sprouts have come to an end.
Hampshire Jerusalem Artichokes are available this week.
English forced Rhubarb has now started, it is excellent
Good sized cauliflowers are difficult to source. We are expecting some Cornish at the end of the week.
Local Mushrooms are excellent.
NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK.. Jersey Royals have arrived; 6kg boxes (£££)
Local Hampshire Roquet and Bulls Blood will be available from Wednesday the 17th
Cherries are very difficult to find, Chillean supply is delayed and NZ produce is scarce.
IOW Estima potatoes are excellent, a good all rounder for Roasting and Boiling. Maris Piper are still the best for chipping. Washed Desiree are unavailable this week.
